Back to school

This year I’m undertaking a new venture. I’m heading back to school to give Marnie Shaw the best chance of publication.

The Golden Egg Academy are a group of experienced children’s publishing professionals who work with writers who want to see their work published. They have a first look arrangement with Barry Cunningham’s Chicken House agency, the man who discovered J.K. Rowling and have had a number of success stories, including M.G. Leonard, author of Beetle Boy.

Golden Egg Academy provide editorial support, workshops and online classes and I have been accepted on to their Foundations course.

Their Foundations course is aimed at building strong story foundations, working on story telling techniques, strengthening concepts and making the story come alive. Some participants have a completed manuscript and some don’t.

My first workshop is on the 27th January, so I’ll be getting stuck in very soon. I’ll be sharing my thoughts and progress regularly.

So hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to school I go!
